Rijke’s Produce Farm is a small scale, family owned vegetable farm located in Morrisburg, Ontario. We grow 18 acres of vegetables, serving our weekly produce box subscribers and our on-farm store.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work alongside the two owners of Rijke’s produce farm, having a hand in many aspects of operating the farm. The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for the daily operations of the farm store. They must be comfortable serving customers, being a cashier, and filing the store display. The candidate must also be able to lift up to 35lbs. The ideal candidate is hard-working and able to do physical work. Gardening and farming knowledge is not a requirement.
Tasks: (but are not limited to)

Serving customers at our on-farm market.

Monitoring stock of produce on shelf.

Ensuring quality of produce in store.

Packaging weekly produce box subscriptions.

(Fieldwork, weeding and planting, harvesting, washing and packaging produce).

Job Details:
Mature Person:
Start/end date: June 1- October 31.
Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week. Can be very flexible based on what you prefer. Minimum 2 days per week (approx 20 hours) and Maximum 5 days per week (50 hours). Expected to work some Saturdays as they are the busiest days in the store.Will always be off on Sundays. (Flexible to what works for the successful candidate’s schedule).
Summer Student:
Start/ end date: End of school - Sept 2.
Would like it if student could work part time after school during the fall. Ex. 3:00pm-6:00pm, 3 times per week.
Schedule: Approximately 30-45 hours per week, 3-5 days per week. Expected to work every other Saturday as they are the busiest days on the farm. Will always be off on Sundays.
Wage: Minimum wage
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
